I can suggest AVG for antivirus and Spybot -Search %26 Destroy for Spywares. AVG is an excellant freeware for scanning viruses from your system, but the free version doesn't support spyware removal. But this can be compensated with Spybot-Search%26 Destroy, another freeware that scans for spywares,adwares and trojans on your system. It is also a freeware and does not conflict with AVG. Having a combination of both on your system provides you with ample security that even certain paid versions cannot provide. Both are freewares and lite on your systems memory.

YES!!! YES!!! www.znet.com or www.cdnet.com GREAT sites...BUT make sure you go for FREE versions...check closely, but these are killer sites...I will suggest zone alarm, avg and win patrol, they have my system like Ft. Knox.
