Is norton rubbish?

I have just done a scan with spyware doctor (free) and it found loads!! yet norton which i paid 拢40 for finds nothing but 1 cookie?? WTH?

norton only find viruses. it SHOULDN'T locate any spyware adware and similar thing that are found by antispyware. and spyware doctor is an antispyware.

basically you need to have both antivirus and antispyware to prevent your computer from all possible threats. and if i were you i would also install a firewall.

I doubt you will be able to take it back. Norton is just rubbish full stop. You can download some free software, like AVG for example which is much much better. My uncle is in IT and always advises people with Norton to get it wiped off as it is a waste of time and money and causes more problems than it helps!

Norton isn't rubbish but it is damn annoying and very heavy on system resources.. The reason it's not finding much is because it's an 'antivirus' and spyware doctor is an 'anti spyware'. They are two different things. Spyware doctor won't find any viruses and Norton won't find any Spyware.. Use both and you'll be fine..
